Children assisted to date!
Who we are
Katie's Kids was founded in 2020 after the tragic death of Kaitlyn Eckelberry at just 23 years old.
At such a young age, Kaitlyn had already developed an amazing legacy of helping others less fortunate and was greatly loved by many who called her a friend.
Katie's Kids mission is to enhance the self-esteem of children in need by providing them with targeted financial assistance in the form of items such as shoes, prom tickets, instrument rentals, summer camps, choir robes, and various sporting equipment that the child's family can't afford, allowing the child to feel more "normal" amongst their more fortunate peers.

WHAT WE DO

We provide grants averaging $150 to Stark County children in grades K-12 who are identified by our network of teachers, community liaisons, religious and social workers. The liaisons complete a simple application and, upon approval, Katie's Kids provides a check or gift card to the liaison to give to the child's caregiver so they can purchase the item with their child to ensure the dignity of the caregiver. The intent is to distribute between $50,000 to $75,000 a year that has been collected from generous donations, golf outings, concerts and special events. To date we have provided grants and scholarships totaling over $260,000!!
